Welcome to Hissom Tabernacle, where we gather to work for the glory of God. Hissom Tabernacle has been on the corner of Pennsylvania and Spring Street for almost 100 years. We don't just worship at Hissom, we share God's love and compassion with our community as a mission church. Join us to further your own personal relationship with Jesus - visit Hissom Tabernacle and meet God in action.
Our ministry for children needs your family. We have safe spaces for children and want you to bring them to meet Jesus and help build our child and youth programs.
Hissom Tabernacle welcomes everyone who comes to our doors, for any of our services. Come and learn how you can grow in faith and holiness through worship, study and service.

Where do I park?
For Sunday School and Worship service in the sanctuary we have an upper parking lot off Spring Street with a handicap ramp. For Bible Study we gather in the Community Room which has parking near the pumps at the Bigley Piggly Wiggly.
What does a Typical Service Look Like?
Our services are informal, we don't dress fancy, just respectful. We might sing hymns or contemporary worship music. We have a congregational prayer for your requests. We have a sermon during worship service and study biblical scripture during Sunday School and Bible Study.
How can I get involved in serving?
If you have a desire to serve in a specific way, through Youth, Global Missions, Music, Meals, Outreach or other area of interest just talk with Pastor Jessica about where your special talents can best be utilized at Hissom for the glory of God.
Is there something for my kids?
We want your children to come and be a part of our services and help grow our safe spaces for children into something special.
I spent many years apart from the Lord, chasing worldly affection. A co-worker brought me back to prayer, and grief sent me to my knees, calling out to God. Of course, he answered! It still took many years to find my spiritual home, but when I walked into Hissom for worship service in 2023 and felt the Holy Spirit moving in me, I knew I was finally home!

I rededicated my life to Christ in 2024. I’ve been going to Hissom for two years. I am a greeter and attendance coordinator. I love this church, because of the people and our great Pastor. I love to serve God in our outreach programs because I love helping others and serving God.
